Lamo Solar respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and what your rights are.

Who is responsible

What we collect

When you use the Request an Assessment form or the Contact form we collect what you type into it: your name, email address, phone number, company or organisation, site location, sector, the service you are interested in, and your message. Giving your consent in the form is required before it can be sent.

Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this website.

Why we use it

• To respond to your enquiry and contact you about it.
• To assess your site and prepare a proposal.
• To keep a record of the enquiry and of our dealings with you.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run the site and handle enquiries: Netlify (website hosting), Resend (delivery of the enquiry email to our team) and Airtable (our enquiry records). They process the information on our behalf, and some of them store data outside South Africa. We take reasonable steps to make sure your information stays protected when it is processed elsewhere.

The Contact page shows a Google map, and our videos play from YouTube when you press play. Those providers may set their own cookies once the map loads or a video starts. See their privacy policies for detail.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any resulting work, and for as long as the law or our contracts require. After that we delete it.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

Your rights

You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, or to stop using it, and you may withdraw your consent at any time. Email info@lamosolar.co.za and we will respond. To request access to a record, see our PAIA page.

If you believe we have not handled your information properly you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
