Have Questions?
Straight answers on solar PV, battery storage, PPAs, maintenance and working on live sites.
Where do we start?
We begin by reviewing your electricity bills, load data, site conditions and energy goals. This helps us identify a suitable solution.
Is the energy assessment free?
The initial discussion and high-level review are free. Detailed assessments, metering and engineering studies are scoped and quoted separately.
Do I need solar, battery storage, or both?
Solar reduces daytime grid use. Batteries store energy for later use and can support critical loads during outages. The right mix depends on your load profile and backup needs.
What solutions does Lamo provide?
We deliver solar PV, battery storage, hybrid systems, microgrids, energy management and optimisation, EV charging, EPC, commissioning, monitoring and maintenance.
Can I install solar without upfront capital?
Potentially. Subject to project feasibility and financing approval, options include a power purchase agreement or other financed energy solutions.
What is the difference between EPC and a PPA?
With EPC, the client or its financier typically funds the installation. With a power purchase agreement, the customer buys electricity under an agreed contract, while ownership and funding follow the project structure.
What does a proposal include?
A proposal sets out the recommended solution, scope, pricing, assumptions, exclusions, programme and applicable commercial terms.
How much does a solar system cost?
Costs depend on your load, system size, storage, site conditions and commercial model. We provide pricing after assessing your requirements.
Can Lamo work at a site that cannot shut down?
We plan work around site operations and agree any required outages with the client in advance. Delivery is subject to site safety and access requirements.
Does Lamo manage the full project?
We provide the agreed EPC scope, from assessment and engineering through procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
What happens after commissioning?
Where included in the service agreement, we monitor performance, conduct scheduled maintenance and provide reports on system operation.
What warranties or performance guarantees do you provide?
Warranty terms depend on the equipment and contract. Any performance guarantees or service commitments are stated in the project agreement.
Can I add solar or storage later?
Yes, where technically and commercially feasible. We assess future expansion needs and design for staged additions where practical.
Can Lamo help reduce costs without installing solar?
Yes. Depending on the site, we assess energy efficiency, load management, monitoring and other optimisation measures.
Which industries does Lamo serve?
Our focus includes commercial, industrial, agricultural, healthcare, education, research, public-sector, mining and infrastructure projects.
Do you install systems for individual homes?
Residential work is not our core focus, but we assess opportunities on merit, based on requirements, technical feasibility, commercial viability and available capacity. We also consider suitable estate and shared-infrastructure projects.
Can you supply systems for farms or remote sites?
Yes. We assess grid-tied, hybrid and off-grid solutions for farms, lodges and remote facilities based on demand, infrastructure and reliability needs.
Where does Lamo operate?
We deliver projects across South Africa. Opportunities elsewhere are assessed based on project requirements, local regulations and delivery capacity.
What information should I provide for a quotation?
Share your location, electricity bills or load data, operating hours, backup needs, site details and expected timeline. We will advise if more information is needed.
How do you assess project savings?
We consider tariffs, consumption, expected generation, system costs, operating expenses and financing terms. Projections depend on stated assumptions and actual operating conditions.
Can you provide project references?
We share approved project examples and references where available and where client permissions allow.
Does Lamo offer vacation work or internships?
Limited opportunities depend on project schedules, supervision and the student’s field of study. Applicants should submit a CV, proof of enrolment and preferred dates.
Does Lamo work with suppliers and technical partners?
Yes. We assess suppliers, specialist contractors, engineers and project partners based on project needs, capability, credentials and due diligence.
How do I submit a project enquiry?
Send your contact details, organisation, site location, energy requirements and expected timeline through our contact form. Include bills or technical information if available.
No question matches that yet. Send it to us and an engineer will answer.
